Question by Jacob: Whys my 05 cummins running weird?
My ’05 dodge cummins is running rough and lost power jsut after 2nite. we changed the fuel pump to a DPP 150 and put a aero muffler on it b/c my strait 5″ seemed like it needed something more. anyways it was making a louder,higher pitch knocking or not quite knocking hard noice. the engine isnt vibrating other than normal, but there is a definate loss of power. when i punch it i cant even spin the tires…i could for 2 gears before. i have the edge programmer too. but all i put on was the fuel pump and muffler. i reconnected the stock fuel pump and the same thing was happening. i dunno how to bleed the fuel system, or if that would even help it. please help me asap! the best instuctions possible would really help. i dunno where the bleed valve is…please help!!!

Here we are back in august hauling ponies with a friend of ours 2001 dodge ram 3500 24v cummins with all sorts of goodies on it such as tow chip, 6 speed manual, air ride suspension, and exhaust brake. It still has stock exhaust on it, that’s why it smokes a little because all the back pressure isn’t allowing the turbo to spool up quick enough to it tends to give out some smoke while shifting.
