Question by surveyman5285: 2007 6.6 duramax question?
what problems could occur if i remove the exhaust filter and catalytic converter and put an after market Performance exhaust system on my 6.6……every body indicates that you are limited to what you can do with the 2007 Model diesels….needing some ideas

You,,l run into computer problems…You have to get rid of an o2 sensor the brain will not like that…You need to find a duramax pro..They are few and far betwen…I just left mine stock,so I don,t have any problems.I have a friend that put a staight axle with 38,s on his 05 duramax…Then he added twin turbos…It really spools up now…
If you just remove the DPF, it is going to get mad. The aftermarket does have DPF-back exhaust kits for the newer models.
Some people have removed the DPF with success, but it is no longer street legal technically because of the lack of emissions.
Your better off leaving it in place until the aftermarket comes out with something better, which I’m sure they will!
