What would you pay for this Dodge Diesel?
Question by SchoolBoy: What would you pay for this Dodge Diesel?
What would you pay? It’s a 1996 Dodge 2500 diesel, 2wd, automatic. The truck is leaking oil and diesel fuel under the engine. The inside is torn up. Cracked windshield. Driver door doen’t line up perfectly so kinda cookoo when shutting it. Needs rotors. 212k miles. Body has dents and chips. Engine sounds really great though. Low blue book is $ 5,800, but that’s for a truck that is mechanically good. Opinions?

$ 2,000
. I would not by it for 2K , it sounds like nothing but a headache. Not sure if your a cummins fan or just want a diesel but I own a powerstroke and in the forums section on….. Powerstroke.org ……is a section with trucks for sale. I see trucks in pristine condition compared to what you were looking at for the same money. Do some research , the diesel market stinks right now and you can find a bargain on a nice truck with a little looking around.
$ 1500.00 to buy it then $ 2,000.00 ( at least ) in repairs. Then you would have $ 3,500.00 in a truck with almost a quarter of a million miles on it. Even if the seller fixed everything I personally wouldn’t pay more than $ 3,500.00 for it. It’s 12 years old with a lot of miles and I’m not sure where your from but, Has it seen snow and salt? If so then I wouldn’t buy it at all. That’s only my opinion though. GOOD LUCK!!
it could be worth whatever the buyer wants to pay. prices range from area to area. I don’t think i would give more then 1200.00 because of the repairs it needs good luck.
$ 1500.00
i wouldn’t buy it period ,your talking about a truck that needs more repairs than its worth,there’s better trucks out there right now that you can find,you cant go by the book on one in that bad of shape,you go by what ever you can get out of it,good luck.
