Chips are aftermarket computer chips that replace the ones the manufacture put in there. These chips run the computer that controls the car.
The best chips are the ones the manufacturer put in. The others haven’t been rigorously tested. No one knows what the aftermarket chips will do. Except void any warranty left on the truck,

A chip is basically a device to improve the fuel to air ratio, turbo control and most also train the trans to shift different to protect it from damage from added power. Some just dump more fuel others advance the fuel pump timing. Try to stay away from the dirty smokey ones, lots of smoke is basically telling you it wasting fuel. Banks I would say is the best (comes with a price attached) others like Edge, BD, Bullydog, SCT and PPE are good. Some makers specialize in a certain truck and often have a better truck specific tune. Most tuners can be easily removed and leave no trace for the dealer to void your warranty with.
