Question by wakey: Diesel Tuning Chips…..any good?
I’ver seen loads of adverts for plug and play tuning chips for just about every diesel car there is, but are they any good?

I’m sure they work and will increase the power and torque and possible give better mpg (if you can hold the right foot) but are they detrimental to the rest of the engine? Will hoses/gaskets or worse wear quicker due to the increase power out put?
Nice to know they work.

So if I got a lower spec car from a range with stiff suspension eg leon all should be ok?

They will work as advertised but the one thing that they don’t tell you is that you really need to do some serious suspension upgrades as well to handle all of that additional power.
